We are a Generation of Victors

The Lord has been showing me Cadres, Generals and Warriors of faith from Biblical characters like Abraham, David & Paul to long ago gallant sons and daughters; also the present day strong man and women of God who walk in light, love and faith fulfilling the divine call of God on their lives.

In all of it I’m in awe of God for it is Him who calls forth a man from the end of the earth to fulfill His purpose. I just couldn’t help but think; WE ARE A GENERATION OF VICTORS; thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through Our Lord Jesus Christ – 1 Corinthians 15:57.

Allow me to focus on Father Abraham and Mother Sarah.

“Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness, Who seek the Lord: Look to the rock from which you were hewn and to the quarry from which you were dug. Look to Abraham your father and to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain; When he was but one I called him, then I blessed him and multiplied him.” Isaiah 51:1-2.

This is the message for those who have embraced the message to prepare to enter into heaven.
We have learned that we have to live righteous lives. God saved Noah from the floods and we understand that Noah was a righteous man. Genesis 6:9 ...Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God.
And we also learn that when Abraham believed God, it was credited to him as righteousness.  Genesis 15:6 Then he believed in the Lord; and He reckoned it to him as righteousness.
We also learn from John that Jesus Christ is righteous and those who do the same are born of Him. John 2:29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone also who practices righteousness is born of Him.

So then as we continue to pursue righteousness (believing in the Lord and His Word, walking with God in unceasing prayer, doing everything that pleases God and other deeds of righteousness as inspired by the Holy Spirit;) let us also look to Father Abraham and Mother Sarah for they are exemplary figures of how we ought to live if we are truly sons and daughters of Abraham and of God for He is known as the God of Abraham Issac & Jacob.

Father Abraham’s walk:

1.       Abraham believed God. At one point God spoke to Abraham telling him that he would become a father of many nations; as many as the dust of the earth. At the time Abraham and his wife were barren and they were growing old. Surprisingly despite these factors, Abraham believed God.
We also when God speaks to us in His Word, in a dream, in a vision, in prophecy or any other means. We should believe because Our God is not man that He should lie.

2.       Abraham was unwavering in his belief. Personally i find believing God easy, what i find to be hard is to continue believing. Abraham did not waver in his belief, he kept his faith even though the promise of God tarried for a year.
We also should not be double minded, believing today, tomorrow unbelieving or believing in part, harboring some doubts. We are called to be strong in faith.
Romans 4:20-21 yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.
3.       Abraham obeyed the voice of God. God asked Abraham to offer his son as a sacrifice. Abraham heard God and prepared to do as God had asked even though Issac was his only son whom he loved having received him after a long period of barrenness.
When you read the full story of Abraham from the Book of Enoch you will understand that satan tried many times to stop Abraham from obeying the voice of God but Abraham persisted and rebuked satan until he was up the mountain of Moriah.
We also must understand that everything we have has come from God and therefore He can ask anytime. We must always obey God for everyone who obeys God finds favor in His eyes. We must be doers of His Word and not only hearers.
We must also understand that when we seek to obey God, satan will try MANY times to stop us from obeying God but like Abraham we should continue to climb that mountain as long as we know that it is God who spoke and commanded us.
Some people have been called by God to pastor, evangelize, prophesy and disciple but satan has come in the way, making you doubt if God has really called you because of what you see or because of what people say; i just want you to know: THERE ARE MANY WISE THINGS THAT A MAN CAN DO BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT AND WISE OF ALL IS TO OBEY GOD. So then climb Mount Moriah and don’t look back or concern yourself with petty issues: DO WHAT GOD HAS TOLD YOU TO DO.

4.       Abraham interceded and God hearkened. At one point God revealed His plans to Abraham that he was going to destroy Sodom on account of its evil ways but Abraham pleaded MANY times with God to spare the city on account of the few righteous that were in it (Lot and his family). Abraham said if there are fifty righteous people will you destroy the city and God said no
Then he asked if they are forty five people, God said He would not destroy the city
Abraham continued and said suppose they are forty, The Lord said He would not destroy
Abraham again pleaded saying what if they are thirty, The Lord said He would spare the city for the sake of the thirty
Abraham asked again, what if they are only twenty, God said He would not destroy
At last Abraham said suppose only ten are found there, The Lord said on account of ten He will not destroy the city.
Read the full story in Genesis 18 &19.
So 6 times Abraham interceded!
Wow! How many times do we ourselves intercede on behalf of others?
In the end Lot and his household were rescued from the destruction that God had planned for the wicked because Abraham interceded with God so that the righteous would not be destroyed with the wicked.
It is the same in our own age, We know that a time of great tribulation is coming upon the earth and that the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire after which we will receive a new heaven and earth, the home of righteousness. We know that God has planned deliverance for the righteous whom He will save from the great tribulation. God will do this by sending His Son who will harvest His Bride on the day of the Rapture, the day when we shall be caught up to meet Him in the clouds. So now we do not give up to intercede on behalf of our family, friends, neighbors, countryman, workmates etc that they too may be saved.

5.       Abraham gave. Abraham obeyed God and God prospered him such that he was rich in livestock and other things. If you read the Book of Enoch you will discover that Abraham’s house was designed with many gates, if a stranger was passing through on a journey he would stop at Abraham’s house to receive refreshments and then he would carry on.
Abraham gave to God
Abraham gave tithe to the High Priest
Abraham gave to strangers
We too should learn to excel in giving to God, man of God, family, friends and strangers in need.

Mother Sarah’s walk:

1.       Sarah was Holy. For in this way in former times the holy women also , who hoped in God, used to adorn themselves...
Sarah was counted among the Holy women of long ago because she adorned herself with a gentle and quiet spirit. She was also submissive to her husband even calling him, her master.
We too should follow her example. I however do not support man who beat and abuse their wives, If your husband is abusive seek help immediately.

2.       Sarah was beautiful. The Bible records Sarah as a beautiful women. Abraham also knew that his wife was beautiful. People of the countries they entered into would recommend Sarah as a beautiful women to the King. There are many thoughts and perspectives concerning beauty these days.
The media has advertised make-up, hair extensions, fancy clothes, jewellery, skin bleaching, plastic surgery and sorts as beauty. However women of long ago did not adorn themselves with these.  Refer to 1Peter 3:3-6
If we are truly daughters of Sarah let our adorning be modest dress, meekness and gentleness of spirit. I know some people will convince you to think otherwise but i can tell you truthfully make up, artificial hair, jewellery, skin bleaching, some forms of plastic surgery, some showy and indecent clothes, THESE DO NOT PLEASE GOD.

In Abraham and Sarah’s walk the Name of God was glorified for it became known in those days, even in this day it is known that Jehovah is the God of Abraham, Issac & Jacob.
May our walk with God result in the glorification of God’s Name also.
